Special Track on Privacy Enhancing Technologies and their Applications (PETA)

During the past years the general level of awareness for information security and privacy has increased significantly due to a number of security and privacy breach incidents that have received considerable publicity. These incidents have

Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs) can help decrease these risks by empowering users to manage their own digital credentials and authenticate themselves towards services using the data minimization principle. PETs is the coin name of ICT technologies and measures that protect privacy by eliminating or reducing the disclosure of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) by preventing unnecessary and/or undesirable storage and processing of personal data, without sacrificing the usability and functionality of an information system or service. The EU emphasizes the use of PETS in Article 25 (and related references in 28, 29 and 78) of the GDPR that promotes the principle of data protection by design by requiring data controllers and processors to embed privacy protection measures and PETs directly into the design of information systems.

In this context,we organise a special track of SEEDA‐PETA which aims to attract submissions that are related to PETs, possible risks in their use, and their applications.
